Every strategy starts with the dealer. What card the dealer has is very important for the strategy. This is because there is a percentage associated with the card. This percentage indicates how much chance there is that the banker will bust.
The most advantageous for the player is that the banker has between two and six. This is because the percentage of the bank buying itself to death is highest between two and six. The most favorable for the bank is a picture or an ace. Here the percentage of the bank busting itself is the lowest.
Main Strategy Rules
There are five rules of thumb that are very important to remember. The first has to do with when to pass. This depends on the bank’s card. If the banker’s card is between a 2 and a 6, then you pass when the card is 12 or higher.
If the banker has between a seven and an ace, pass at seventeen or higher. The second rule of thumb has to do with the ace. If you have an ace in your hand then you pass. If the bank has between two and six then stop at eighteen. If the bank has between seven and the ace then you stop at nineteen.
The third rule of thumb is about doubling. If the banker has between a two and a six, double with a nine. You double a ten or eleven if the banker has between a two and a nine. The fourth rule of thumb is about splitting.
The following values apply here. You never split a 4-4, 5-5 and 10-10. If you have an 8-8 or ace-ah, you always split. For 2-2, 3-3, 6-6, 7-7, and 9,9 the rule is that you only split if the banker has between a two and a six.
